“Jerry epitomized the definition of leadership.  His impact on the
Foundation and University has inspired others to support Indiana State
 through time, talents, and treasures, “ Gene Crume.

The Indiana State University Foundation mourns the passing of an avid supporter,
committed volunteer, and loyal friend. Mr. Jerry Einstandig,
Indiana State alumnus, was an important volunteer leader for the
University and the Foundation serving in many positions including the
Chair of the ISU Foundation Board of Directors.

Both Jerry, and his wife Jo, have made a great impact through their
personal philanthropy, diligently supporting the athletics program
and the Einstandig President’s Scholarship. They both have also
served key roles in the execution of MARCH ON! The Campaign for
Indiana State. In recognition of outstanding service, Jerry and Jo
were awarded the Distinguished Service Award
in 1997 by the Foundation. President Daniel Bradley said
following Jerry’s passing, “He was a big community booster and
ISU is a part of that. I don’t know nicer people
than Jo and Jerry.”

Jerry’s positive attitude and dedication will be forever remembered in
those he has touched at Indiana State University.
