Giving Societies

 

Indiana State University’s Leadership Gift Societies provide special recognition and benefits to those who make annual contributions to support the advancement of the University. The generosity of these donors provides inspiration and serves as an example for other alumni, parents and friends. Members of these societies, through their support, play a vital role in the future of the University and in the lives of its students.

President's Society: $1000 or more

 

The President’s Society was established to recognize the distinguished alumni and friends who understand that Indiana State can fulfill its educational goals only with their loyal support and financial involvement. President’s Society donors have been instrumental in inspiring progress and success at Indiana State by contributing to a number of University programs and helping to educate others on the importance of philanthropy. These individuals, who have chosen to make a bright future brighter, stand with the President as leaders of the University and play a significant role in the growth and well being of Indiana State University.

 

Whether it’s funding student scholarships or providing innovative programs to enhance education, the common goal of President’s Society donors is to empower Indiana State to become the very best. Gifts may be made directly to the President’s Society unrestricted fund or restricted to any area of the University.

President’s Societies
Jones Level           $1,000 - $1,999
Brown Level          $2,000 - $4,999
Parsons Level         $5,000 - $9,999
Hines Level            $10,000 or more
Tirey Level             $25,000 or more
Holmstedt Level      $50,000 or more

 

Founders Society:  $500-$999


The Founders Society commemorates friends who are helping Indiana State University continue its dedication to serving the educational needs of Indiana. This giving society recognizes donors that have made an annual contribution of $500-$999. 

 

 Heritage Society:  $142-$499


The Heritage Society honors friends who commemorate Indiana State University’s history by making an annual gift of at least one dollar for every year of the institution’s charter. This giving society recognizes donors who have given $140-$499 within a year.

Patrons Society:  $1-$141


The Patrons Society recognizes the many alumni, parents and friends who maintain a continuing interest in the programs of Indiana State University. Their annual gifts of $1-$136 are acknowledged as an important source of support to the University. 

 

Sycamore Athletics Scholarship Fund:


The Sycamore Athletics Scholarship Fund was established as a way to ensure that the great traditions of ISU athletics could be extended far into the future. By investing in the fund, which exists to support scholarships, you will help generate a number of dividends for ISU student athletes, the university and the Terre Haute community.
When you choose to support ISU’s student athletes through a gift to the Sycamore Athletics Scholarship Fund, you are making an investment in both athletic and educational excellence by helping these students build futures for themselves.

•  Full Scholarship: $10,000+
•  Half Scholarship: $5,000-$9,999
•  Executive: $2,500-$4,999
•  Directors: $1,000-$2,499
•  Big Blue: $700-$999
•  Blue and White: $500-$699
•  Loyalty: $250-$499
•  Booster: $100-$249
  
 

 Book and Torch Society


The Book and Torch Society is a lifetime giving society that honors Indiana State University’s most generous philanthropists. This society recognizes individuals and family foundations who have had a significant impact on Indiana State by making one-time or cumulative gifts of $100,000 or more.
 
The book and the torch are emblematic symbols depicted on the Indiana State University seal. The book symbolizes knowledge and truth gained at Indiana State, while the torch symbolizes the light of inspiration passed to generations of students. The dedication and support of Book and Torch donors help us to uphold this deep tradition of knowledge, inspiration and truth.
 
The Indiana State University Foundation was proud to induct the charter members of the Book and Torch Society at the 2007 Philanthropy Awards Banquet. This induction included all donors who have given at this level since the inception of the University. Future inductions will be made annually at the Philanthropy Awards Banquet for new society members.

1865 Society

The 1865 Society is a special society honoring those individuals who understand the importance of providing for the future of Indiana State University. This society recognizes individuals who have included Indiana State in their financial estate planning by leaving a legacy of hope for future generations of students. The opportunity for public recognition in the 1865 Society is left to the discretion of the donor.
 
Qualifying gift types include:
• A simple bequest to ISU in a will or trust
• Designating ISU as the beneficiary of a life insurance policy or retirement account
• A charitable, testamentary, or living trust
• A charitable gift annuity
• Gift of real property
• A tax-wise gift of securities
 
1865 Society Benefits
• A memorial medallion inscribed for each member
• Listing within the 1865 Society on the Indiana State University Donor Wall
• Listing in the annual Donor Honor Roll
• An invitation to the annual Philanthropy Awards Banquet
